I’ve thought about building this in the past. I hope someone does.
Some ideal features would collapsible paths so that the chart is much more understandable, making it easy to see different sub-topics, and adding more than words so that you can encode better.

Or similarly, multiple maps with different focus and different levels of abstraction, annotated and cross-referenced to each other so you can review the same problem from many angles at once

I'd certainly be very interested to see a prototype applying ZigZag to this specific problem.

Spatial as well. Good for mapping “mind palaces” and can add collaboration and 3D elements and more
