Does anyone have experience with the OpenStax textbooks? I'm particularly interested in any observations about how they compare to the "canonical" texts in a given field.

Still consensus naturally. But definitely not regressive or stale. At least in the humanities and political science.

I use them as the core of a textbook Imthat I have put together with more primary and secondary sources.

I think the nicest thing to say about them is that they have good intentions. I spent a while at a company that wanted to adapt their content. The flaws in the questions are most obvious, the flaws in exposition and sequencing take more thought to see.
