A thousand ways this is real—here's one: Every day when we wake up, it is the most exciting event in Shabu's world. She throws a goddamn parade. She makes circles around the home, bringing us objects as offerings, then hugs while squirming bc too excited to sit still. Every day!

except for the super weird digression into dog sex (now that’s some anthropomorphizing) this is almost exactly how i feel about dogs. subservience and fawning squick me out. but, i have to have a service dog. the alternative is to lose months of my life every year to gluten
