curious what writing app you use for long-form writing. from what i understand you use bear extensively, but do you also use that for longer essays?

Yes, generally speaking. I usually switch to a source editor for the final stages, since I'm often more focused on e.g. wrangling marginal notes and additional elements.

Thank you! Persisting with Bear after your reply finally made your workflow click for me. For context, I’m writing a ~30 page essay on designing tools for people with ADHD and was struggling to orient ideas because of the long scroll.

Been following your work for the past year, and repeatedly tried but failed to adopt your evergreen note writing methodologies e.g. atomicity, api titles. Tried tools like Roam and Obsidian, but never truly felt it “click” till I kept 3-5 notes open on Bear at once.
