Wanted: an online service where you can submit a PDF in the two-column format used by many conferences and journals and get back a single-column PDF (where that column is as wide as those in the original) for reading enlarged on a tablet.

can we also have pdf -> boring html webpage (maybe minimal styling, but honestly, reader mode is getting really good)

OK, this is really nice - what are the legalities around uploading non-OA works for conversion? Does uploading a PDF for conversion to HTML violate the -ND clause of a CC license?

They don't present the uploaded files to other users, so I suppose it's roughly the same as using a SaaS reference library like ReadCube.
But as an avid Sci-Hub user, my default stance w.r.t. that question is 🤷♂️
