Hey Andy! Would be super helpful to hear your thoughts on writing notes in Bear (with your script extensions) vs. Craft (not sure if you've used it).
I'm very tempted to commit to the former just because Bear is so slick and smooth!

I've been really impressed with the Craft team's velocity. I haven't been able to switch: the block-based editor introduces a fundamental clunkiness which grates for mostly-prose work. But I can see these frictions being polished away at some point…

Thanks for getting back! Completely agree with your point re: block-based editors - that’s exactly what’s keeping me on the edge. I notice that Bear is still much smoother for large documents too.
Do you only work with Bear from your computer with your scripts running in bg?

What would you recommend for someone who’s just starting with the Zettelkasten system and has less than a 100 notes?
Tried your scripts from github and they work like a charm, I’ve been thinking about extending them to work with Craft too, so that notes would sync between both.

Mostly I'd suggest picking something and running with it, not worrying too much about the tool. Focus on the writing and the thinking. Bear's fine. Obsidian has advantages if you don't care much about polish. Roam/Logseq have unique advantages if you can stand their UI friction.

Thank you for your time, Sir! Tbh, it’s only between Bear and Craft for me. Craft is missing tag support, but it should be coming soon.
Since I don’t have too many notes, I guess I’ll have to try running with each for about a month and seeing where I get pulled.
