One reason we don't have more interesting, quality structured text editors: it's *really* hard to implement table-stakes editing operations well, particularly on web. In this video, I attempt to arrow up/down and shift+up/down to select inter-line in 8 outliners. Very yikes.

However, I think I’m with you that I’d *prefer* if OmniOutliner supported inter-line text selection ranges.

Yes, I agree that it's arguable. My (perhaps cynical) guess is that someone at Omni thought about it and decided that they explicitly preferred this behavior, whereas the web editors work they way they work because to do otherwise is too costly.

I went looking for outliners that allow multi-block text selections recently and remembered the OmniOutliner UX so fondly that I was sure it had them. Alas.
