Has anyone found good ways of reading non-fiction through audio?
It's fine as entertainment to just listen through. But on paper or Kindle I constantly take notes, work stuff out, skip around, reread, make flashcards, write down ideas, etc.

Basically: do people have ideas for better ways to audio read?

I've had some success with using voice memos while listening. It's a bit cyborg:
- I'm listening on AirPods
- I'll start an audio recording on my watch
- when I want to make a note or flashcard, I'll double-tap my AirPod to pause, then raise my wrist and speak

None of this deals with the need for re-reading, "scratch space," etc, unfortunately.

Is this experience already better than reading for you? Or are you intentionally going out on a limb and ironing out the pain points in the hope that it will become better (than reading) later? Just curious what’s motivating this effort from your POV.

Ah, reading closer it sounds like it’s got more to do with what you’re able to do conveniently while on the move or something
