So problem = I can't remember shit from books. I either highlighted extensively in Kindle (and didn't go back to them), made extremely detailed outlines (and didn't go back to them), or jotted down haphazard thoughts on a notepad (and didn't go back to them). (1/25)

My memory fades over time, so all that remains of books is whatever I can remember and my notes gathering dust in a corner.

One, you can rigorously memorize what you find important using flash cards (Anki). You can read more from here: augmentingcognition.com/ltm.html
I thought these were amazing ways to use Anki and adapted it for school. But not yet for books - too many flashcards! (3/25)

So two, the purpose of remembering is, after all, using!
Therefore, maintain a system that empowers you to *use* what you've read without requiring that you memorize it. (4/25)

From 's online notes, "'Better note-taking' misses the point; what matters is 'better thinking'"
(This is a GOLDMINE. It takes some clicking to get a hang of what's going on, but it's easily one of the best things that happened to me this year) (5/25)
