Yeah I sometimes use GPT-3 for that myself if I'm exploring an unfamiliar topic or academic field, "what are the most important concepts / terms / techniques in X?" If I prompt it well this usually gives me a decent vocabulary to both better understand and explore the space

Interesting! I have a few different variations but I tend towards giving much more context than this—for better consistency and quality of output Also, when working with lists, I'll ask for "20 most important terms..." which makes it less likely to get distracted on tangents
