I've noticed that I consistently experience vivid, visceral dreams when taking brief mid-day naps (usually ~20m at 8h after waking). They're not bad, just intense.
I wonder why—maybe I just remember them better during day? My night-time dreams are usually mild or absent.

I suspect there is a critical amount of sleep before longer and stronget REM sleep phases start. The brain goes throug a priority list starting with the short term life supporting necessary deep sleep phases first.
So what you say may mean you get an exeptionally healthy amount.

Interesting. That's probably true! I wake without an alarm at a fairly consistent time, usually around 8.25h after going to sleep. Usually don't wake during the night.
