Hm, interesting. I guess I don't feel that a missing shared definition is a problem! Is there something in particular (other than the archaic "man") you find outdated in Engelbart's '62 definition?

Yes, that resonates. I think what remains compelling/vital about DCE's definition, for me, is that even though it leaves out elements I find very important (augmenting groups; meaningfulness), it's so broad that it leaves the operative questions mostly undefined.
