It’s a great article but it makes things unnecessarily harder by framing the problem as: -must have _one_ tool - that resolves all of of these constraints -without users altering their behaviour Opportunities may involve changing user behaviour, new UX and combinations of tools.

It's astonishing to me how difficult it (still) is to design a syncable local-first data model. I keep thinking I've found a decent way, then realizing its flaws, then despondently noticing that the flaws were already discussed in Ink & Switch's article: inkandswitch.com/local-first.ht

- research early discussions about people changing their workflows to take advantage of DVCS - tools like Datasette that show you can combine SQLite and Git (with user workflows) to make new possibilities easier - look at Operational Transformations for where CRDTs will likely go
