I am having so much fun reading through your css and js. loaded question but... any musings on how this stuff feels to use compared to UIKit? does this tweet still hold 6 (how time flies!) years later?

I say with confidence as a former UIKit author: React's model for the UI layer is vastly better than UIKit's. React Native is a *huge* deal.

Holds up! It's really all much better, in all the ways we thought it would be. Animation and gestures are still a sore spot, but have improved since 2015. The broader tooling/ecosystem around RN has a lot of pain points but that's not an issue with the model.
