This captures so much! My work tends to improve when I remember this (and let go of fake problems, solutions-in-search-of-problems, concerns about abstract "quality" or "output")… and to fail when I forget (and pursue same). I constantly struggle with maintaining this mindset.

Do you have a framework for defining "problem" and "good"? Genuine question, not trolling–I struggle with these definitions. I'm totally on board with the sentiment, but applying it is hard.

As in, you try to focus on problems where it seems possible to find a theory/solution of greater explanatory power than currently exists? Or you judge a solution by that metric. Maybe both. I like that
