Re: optimizing emotional connection to SRS reviews: It often feels like the “poetry” or playful expansiveness I hope for is somehow incompatible with repetition, even though I care about the prompts. Does this make sense? If so, do you have more thoughts here?

Yes, that resonates with my experience. I find that the prompts which access playful-expansiveness aren’t really about retrieval practice. They’re more like “think of a time when…” or generative prompts. Very different vibe from recall practice. Not sure how to unify…
