I suppose it’s cliched, but I don’t get the slightest bit tired of the beach. Reminded of the observations in “Barbarian Days” that every wave is different. So much variation on one stretch of sand.

Very ditto. It's odd—I don't feel quite the same way about, say, the woods, or a beautiful mountain scene. I wonder why. Maybe the relatively more intense dynamism?

For me I think it’s the constant change and flux. Look away for 5 mins and it’s completely different

Yes! Reminds me of Feynman with Ulam (from “Genius"): “As one watches them they don’t really seem to change, but if you look back a minute later, it is all very different."
