At first when I read this I thought you were inviting people to implement alternative riffs on 10GUI (the OS concept from vimeo.com/6712657). I was like: whoa!! Ambitious!!
Woke up today and was like “wait… he said *7*, not 10…” More sensible, probably. :)

At least at the conscious level, I was mostly thinking about ’s original multi-column Twitter for iPad design, but that design may well have been 10/GUI influenced! And ofc I’ve seen the 10/GUI video many times, so its subconscious influence is hard to escape.
Yep, difficult to unsee it now 😊
I also see parallels/possibilities with the memex machine.

I've done like 8 separate implementations of the panels from that Twitter UI. It was so nice for opening links and continuing to browse while they loaded--it made this heavyweight op that ruins your flow feel lightweight and low cost. ❤️
