I esp liked the point about what's in it for the patrons--being responsible for work that wouldn't have been produced otherwise.

I enjoyed the reflections as well. I would have liked to hear your thoughts on whom you consider your peers to be. And maybe successes and failures in other independent research projects, though I know that would stray from the documentation of your personal experiences.
