No one's yet made a workable solution for web micropayments, but one aspirational design metaphor I like is an electricity meter.
I don't think about running my dishwasher as a transaction with a price and a receipt: I just do things, and I get a bill at the end of the month.

I'm excited to see it! I'm curious how you think about price discovery? I know Coil's an all-you-can-eat situation right now, but I imagine you have thoughts on how long-tail publishers might play in the mix?
Right now the rate is fixed but we're working on adding tipping arbitrary amount.
I think it should be on the developer/creator side to decide how much to charge and the flow should be automated for small amounts/fav sites and 1-click confirmation for bigger amounts/new sites
