This is interesting! I’ve attended a bunch of workshops, but they’ve rarely felt high-signal or generative. What are some of the best practices you’ve found for convening great workshops?

You need a core group of >=3 people working adjacently.
Identify a compelling shared theme/aspiration. Ideally it names the field you all want to establish.
Affiliate with a sympathetic academic conference. For you it might be UIST.
