I honestly can’t answer that and it’s been driving me crazy.
’s replies are about worksplace activities which build skill as a side-effect. Those are valuable—but v different from deliberate practice (where skill-building is primary goal).
I don’t know enough about Austen’s day-to-day to know for sure, but one facile prompt: imagine you could teleport into an HBS classroom twice a week for a case method class + discussion group. Would that make you a better leader?
Another prompt: a weekly Slack thread representing a total emergency, rubbing salt in whatever leadership skills you most lack. You work hard to craft a good reply; your respondent reacts in the hardest way. And so on—roleplaying on Hard Mode, a kind of red teaming.
