"my thinking coach" - what a wonderful prompt! What would a thinking coach do? Do you have one? If not, how could you get one? What fundamental operations in your thinking could be much, much better?

So awesome. In my 20s, my thinking coach taught me to “think on paper.” It’s like first gear for thinking: you go slower but can climb much steeper hills.

My collaborators (very much including you!) have generally been my thinking coaches: a project is a great environment for coaching because it’s high-context and feedback can be “inline.” But can’t help thinking a more “dedicated” thinking coach could be quite useful!

A good boss, advisor, or manager of any kind should have these qualities. I guess a having thinking coach would flip the power in those arrangements though, so you are in charge, rather than them. More like a therapist.
