One of my big tasks for the next year will be to better understand how to write well in the mnemonic medium—and how to help other authors write well. Starting to collect notes here:

I just discovered and am loving your notes. Beautiful Evergreen setup. I just learned about Zettelkasten, etc. Do you find that block-level linking is actually helpful? (This is often cited as the killer feature of Roam, but I can't tell if it's ultimately helpful or not.)

Thanks. There are certainly instances where block-level linking would be helpful, but I find page-level linking a more useful granularity most of the time.

You're so welcome. Seeing your notes made the whole methodology "click" for me. I'm imagining block-level as mostly useful in writing/outlining a piece. Where do you find it more helpful than page level?

Mostly when referring to specific, small excerpts in multiple places over time: quotes from books, tidbits from conversations. In principle it seems like it'd be useful when writing/outlining a piece, but in practice it's seemed more distracting than valuable in that context.
