I’ve found that prompts need to be concise when memorising. But I also use Anki to prompt myself on things that require longer thought - the programmable attention idea. Then concision doesn’t seem to matter. Do you agree & do you separate those cards out?

Concision is about two effects: 1. More precise memory activations 2. Fluidity of review sessions #1 isn’t relevant for PA, but #2 is. I try to write PA prompts so as to keep review sessions fluid; when not possible (e.g. most serious writing prompts), I separate them out.

Thank you for the reply. I am taking quite a long time reviewing cards. Do you have a rule of thumb or rough target cut off for average card review time? Is there any measure of fluidity other than average card review time?
