I really loved this from ’s latest newsletter. It’s gotten me excited about finding creative ways to increase baseline joyfulness against the mushy malaise of pandemic-time.
What are some of the best changes you've made along these lines?

I implemented benkuhn.net/lux/ and it's been a pretty nice change in how the home office makes me feel.

Ah, interesting! I use a ridiculous LED light at my desk in the winter, but I haven’t tried it during the summer: I actually struggle with too much light in my office! But it may just be at the wrong angles. You find it helps even in summer afternoons?

Well, I have to keep the blinds closed as otherwise the glare makes my screens unusable, so it's probably more applicable in my situation where I rely almost entirely on artificial light.

Ah, that’s actually similar to my situation. So the LED light “replaces” the natural light that would come through your blinds, except that you’re able to position it in a way that doesn’t make your display unusable? That seems Very Good. Will have to try…

One week into this experiment, and I was shocked how effective it seemed to be. I normally feel quite lethargic at some point during the day, but I didn't feel tired once last week. Very unusual for me. Too early to declare victory, but I'll keep using it…
Do you have any update on this, especially concerning the lethargy? I'd be interested in trying out a similar setup for comfort alone, but the potential impact on energy levels piqued my interest.

Still seems to contribute noticeable boost in energy.
