Twitter: I am terrible at asking for help! I never think to do it. And when I do, I dismiss it, thinking “ah, it’s so much overhead to involve others that it’s easier to just handle myself.” But I’m sure I’m not asking nearly enough.
Help me! What strategies do you have here?

If I would appreciate help but also have a good BATNA, I usually share that BATNA with the people I’m asking so they know it’s fairly low stakes.
If I’m asking a bunch of people, I also share that info.
For some things I’ll offer to pay in either money or goodwill.

For babysitting list, I made a specific email list of a bunch of people who responded to a FB post saying they would be happy to be asked for help sometimes.
Sometimes I think I should make similar email lists for other things that come up regularly.
