Reflecting more, I notice an interesting difference: I don’t have a meaningful separation between private notes and my public “garden”—and I think that’s important! Not in terms of “security”/access: it’s just that my target “quality” for a private note is legible-to-stranger.

But maybe the congruent spectrum for me is fleeting-to-evergreen: I have kindling (particularly in daily logs) that doesn’t stand on its own. The goal’s to refactor anything interesting in that material to be evergreen—not to make it publishable, but to solidify my thinking.

(I guess I should clarify that of course I keep some notes private because they’re personal, but that’s just a tag applied after the fact—they’re still meant to be legible to a stranger, despite the security policy)
