Reflecting more, I notice an interesting difference: I don’t have a meaningful separation between private notes and my public “garden”—and I think that’s important! Not in terms of “security”/access: it’s just that my target “quality” for a private note is legible-to-stranger.
But that’s not my “bar" because I’m trying to publish/share what I’m writing: I wrote most of what’s in my library long before I started sharing notes. It’s just that using that bar (could this stand alone legibly?) helps me think more clearly and produces more composable notes.
But maybe the congruent spectrum for me is fleeting-to-evergreen: I have kindling (particularly in daily logs) that doesn’t stand on its own. The goal’s to refactor anything interesting in that material to be evergreen—not to make it publishable, but to solidify my thinking.
