What would a long form article designed to be read in small batches of time ideally look like?

This made me think what am I expecting to stay in the mind of the person as they go for the next chunk. It's some form of insight. Something noticed/learned that doesn't need to be explained again in length. Something to build upon.

Of course, 's mnemonic medium comes to mind. You need to be able to recall what a concept means to use it as a building block. Now, are there other ways to do this that don't use SRS? Maybe some sort of invitation to summarise the text as you go?
