In January, I spent all day every day for a week with a reMarkable. The plan: sit on the beach; read; write; think. Being able to use my whole library outside in the sand—with digital ink!—was so freeing.
Alas it has many flaws, so I returned it…but the price just dropped 45%!

This makes me wonder when team will be allowed to build a layer onto e-readers? Another great idea might be for e-readers & note taking tools to have built-in micropub clients so I can use them to publish to my website or other platforms.

Alas I don’t see what would motivate any of the leading vendors to do that. Real lock-in woes.
1/2 Well, it would be definitely possible for hypothes.is to build an e-reader app for e-readers that run Android (like my Note Pro. Unfortunately, I am not sure whether it is coming.There is still no hypothes.is app for Android at all (afaik).

2/2 And hypothes.is still does not have any official extension for Firefox (I programmed mine called Hypothesify). addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ But - on plus side - hypothes.is has open API :). So theoretically, somebody else could program it.
