Reading ’s running notes has made me aware of how bad I am at programming my own attention. I’d think about it more but I’ve got ten notifications on Twitter. BRB.

Incidentally, on Twitter use in particular, a model I’ve found helpful is:
* TweetDeck open throughout the day for conversation (showing only messages and replies, not likes or timeline)
* Scheduled block of time to view the timeline (“allowed between 8-9PM” instead of sipping)

Amusing: I just opened Twitter after having it blocked for the last 11ish hours, for a 10-minute Twitter window. Appropriate thing to see!

Wow, I recently adopted a similar model (I still look at timeline but try to be choosy who to follow). Checked Tweetbot only now after realizing I didn’t open it the whole day. Glad to know this works for people who tend to be highly productive.
