Now that a month has gone by, I've unlocked this post with a video of my prototype spaced-everything platform: patreon.com/posts/36827866
(still experimenting with what makes sense as Patreon-only, for how long, etc…)

I've been dreaming of having SR embedded in the resources I read/watch since I started med school back in 2010. Your Quantum Country essay really resonated. A universal platform that authors can build into their content for SR would be amazing.

Hey Andy, can you point me to the research with most compelling evidence of the impact of SR when compared with other techniques?
Obviously better than traditional learn and forget, but what about compared with memory palaces, mnemonic systems etc.

I don’t think a direct comparison is very interesting. I see them as serving different purposes. numinous.productions/ttft/#two-chee
Much of my interest in SR is not really about what most would think of as memory.

This is great! Is the ultimate goal to design an entirely new medium in which to convey and retain information or do you think we handcuffed to the tools we have now due to our biology. Obviously must optimize the tools we have now in either instance (SRS, mnemonics, etc.)

I don't really know. The ultimate goal is to try to take the design of informational media seriously, from a cognitive and social perspective. Whether that cashes out in something alien or not is unknown.

I actually designed it with that use case in mind. Part of what this system will do will be to integrate with note-taking systems: notes.andymatuschak.org/z5ARNXtS5Vxtes
Dunno if I'll be the one to build a Roam extension; that probably depends on demand and API availability.
