Agreed! Recall was meant as an intuition pump in that essay, and I regret not delimiting it more clearly from the central thesis—my failing as a writer.
I’m interested in creating mediums which facilitate not simple recall, but rich “knowing" as you describe.

That’s a fascinating point—that there’s an implicit contract that “lectures aren’t work.” It’s an interesting contrast with, say, meditation sessions / team sport practice games etc.
