Yas! Are you familiar with Anki? How well does SRS in Roam work compared to Anki? I’m trying to limit the amount of apps I use as much as possible. Having access to all my notes in my SRS is a dream come true.

Yes, used Anki for years when I was learning Japanese :) It's great but very manual and best for stuff where there's an exact answer. What I like about having it in Roam is that you can generate flashcards on the fly

For me one advantage is to have all the info available, I can easily expand the original article, add notes or new connections I've thought of since etc-inspired by
@andy_matuschak's concept of programmable attention. Second is that it's at the bottom of my daily page1 reply 0 retweets 5 likes -

Which is the first thing I look at every morning at the computer. Downsides are not good mobile support, and also slight worry that it will become unwieldy if I add to many cards.

There are enormous advantages to using Roam, instead of Anki. TL;DR: in Roam, your flashcards can start to illuminate their own interconnections, in a way that Anki cards cannot. If you try it in Roam for a few weeks, revising flashcards as they recur, I think you'll see it.

I tend to agree. The structurelessness of Anki cards seems like an important fundamental limitation. Some notes in this vicinity:https://notes.andymatuschak.org/z4w269svvGhA2H5XFr6geaBbPTrxtJRpjt5TE …
