I loved this one. Say, I'm curious for your gut take: even online, this book “feels” like it was written “for print” to me. I don’t know why! What do you think?

I think because the web version was designed specifically for the web it feels at home on the web. But, I'm likely a little biased since I read the web version first.
it's the typography. no extra line break between paragraphs and indented first word at the start of a paragraph. extremely non-webby
