I tried using Notion for Zetteling, but the performance friction was too high. Want to open several notes in multiple windows? Hope you're ready to wait several seconds for each one to open. Currently using Bear, which is working well for now.

Luhmann developed his slip-box using index cards and a typewriter. Notion is perfectly fine and still orders of magnitude better than his system (which enabled him to effortlessly write 50 books).

I know your point is that index cards are even slower, but the feel is totally different. Honestly, I'd rather use paper than deal with webapp jank! Staring at spinners and typing at 15fps is emotionally toxic in some way that's difficult to compare directly. Maybe it's just me!
