(I'm terrible at this! I suspect I'm missing opportunities to amplify big moments in my/friends' lives)

I love the suggestion to commission an illustration for the occasion.

Korean BBQ! Commissioning illustrators/artists to illustrate the special moment. Korean spa. Also these banner things but you can make the letters say anything (e.g. "you're old" or "thank god it's over")

Two basic strategies; choose - micro or macro.
Micro is great for young parents, people working in large groups, etc., for whom being alone and quiet is a big welcome change.
Macro is when the specialness is emphasised by getting everyone your loved one loves together for them.

Can you give an example of each? Thanks!

Book a photographer to capture the moment. Usually our family doesn’t capture a great photo, or it’s at the expense of one family member.
Beautiful, professional photos give back during holidays, professionally, and as irreplaceable memories

For myself? Buying a nice watch I’ve been wanting.
For others? Telling them directly or bragging on them publically.

It depends on the person. A thoughtful card means a whole lot to my wife.
