Struck by a market-making provocation from @tristanharris today: "Imagine a world where you love how you make choices and you love how you're directing your attention, because tech inventors are competing to figure out how best to help you live as you intend."

The desire for a well-directed life often stems from some form of suffering, and that’s a good point for products to capture the users attention. This was even true for the buddha, there just weren’t many products in that time so he made one.

I think there’s going to be more room for tech products as people start to realize that even in the digital world you get what you pay for and you have to pay real money if you don’t want your attention manipulated.
