Twitter, do you have a system for your reference library—construed broadly to include web articles, images, games, videos, etc—not just papers? Note-taking software feels ill-suited to the purpose; academic reference library apps too heavy for this; webapps are all too slow; etc
Definitely in agreement with that line of argument. Curious if you have a perspective on why the classic systems which attempted this didn’t succeed.

I'm not really satisfied with the answer tbh, and it's an important question, so I'll add to it gradually. First on NLS: The closest thing I've seen to NLS today is probably Spacemacs, (a vim flavored emacs config) particularly with the use of the org-mode outline package.
