I got a 10k lumen LED flood (110W of LED! 😱) to combat winter gloom. I turned it on the first time without thinking about where I was looking and it was like opening the Ark of the Covenant. Also fun: it produces hilarious artifacts on the iPhone camera—weird grids, banding, etc

Based on experience with my wife’s SAD, I recommend upgrading to a strand of 25 sockets you fill with 16w (100w-equiv) LED bulbs, if your current setup isn’t enough. Or 21w/2500lm bulbs, if cost efficiency matters less than time/space. 3000K color is nicely warm. (Not a joke.)

You just need blue frequencies in there, I think. And there’s plenty of blue frequency in 3000K LED lights, if you use enough of them. Rooms feeling bright and warm also matters.
