Product creation, especially at this level, is full of tacit knowledge. Grateful that Ken’s captured such wonderful stories (and synthesized lessons) so that we all may benefit. The creation of the iPhone keyboard! The origin of WebKit! Rich editing on the web! What a microcosm.

Very often, yes! Apple was such a formative experience. The nostalgia's always twinged with frustration, disappointment, alienation, etc, but many happy moments and memes in that emotional space too.

I tried to tell an honest tale about the mindset and approach we used to create the products you mentioned, and the stories in my book are as much about miscues and the wrong directions that eventually led to the right path. Confidence and doubt walked hand in hand throughout.
