"Women saved our democracy — no question," Rep. Andy Levin, D-Bloomfield Township, said Tuesday. "The African-American community did an amazing job of turning out and voting for Biden. As did other communities of color."

Last year on we braved a freezing snowstorm. This year it’s a gorgeous day; it’s as if we were blessed by sunshine so we could enjoy honoring this day safely outdoors. Thanks to the Royal Oak veterans who organized a meaningful ceremony and virtual broadcast.

Floridians voted 51 percent for Donald Trump and 60 percent for a $15 per hour minimum wage. Economic justice can be bipartisan.

I voted for Joe Biden to heal the nation, save the planet and give working people a fair chance. Also, I was tired of the White House being a playpen for a 74-year-old who throws more tantrums than a toddler.

The more election analysis I see, the prouder I get of the role Macomb and Oakland Counties played in powering Biden to a 146,000-vote triumph in MI. Across , our army of precinct delegates and volunteers helped pick up 44,000 more presidential votes than we got in '16.

Now that has won Pennsylvania and maintains a lead in Arizona, Georgia and Nevada, he will not only win by 4 million votes, he has also won a decisive Electoral College victory.

The people have spoken, and they have said we are ready to . I look forward to a Biden-Harris administration containing this pandemic and giving American workers the fair shake they have been denied for decades. Let's go!

“The way we’re going to win back working-class voters is through a program that drives their economic interests so strongly and so clearly,” Levin added, saying such a message would overcome Republican appeals based on race, religion and social values.

It was such an honor to get to know on the virtual trail this year and to share such a deep connection over how our faith drives us in the fight for justice. Thank you for stepping up to run. I can't wait to see what you do next.

One key factor may be how many people he induced to vote a straight party ticket. In Macomb, 149,166 Republicans voted straight party vs. 134,540 Democrats. Conversely, in Oakland County, 249,009 Ds did it, vs. 199,732 Rs.

As I digest the accumulating results of Election 2020, I have to give this. He’s going to lose the popular vote overwhelmingly. He’s going to lose the Electoral College definitively. But he has the strongest coattails of any clear loser in memory.

.'s victory reminds me of the tortoise and the hare. He doesn’t go in for show, for flash: he keeps his head down and keeps doing his work. He campaigned just that way, never fretting. Always with integrity. Always with Michiganders’ interest top of mind.

I want to congratulate on winning our all-important state. His message of unity, integrity, and building back better resonated with the hard-working people of our state who were constantly let down by the broken promises of the Trump presidency.
