Not because of the "malicious" commits in the kernel. None of the 200 patches requested to be reverted are intentionally bad.

And not even because of the accusations. I could understand Greg being emotional here. UMN should have handled the Hypocrite Commits research with better after-the-fact transparency.

The sad part is seeing hundreds of (tech!) people being ready to execute the accused on the spot like that. Without even an attempt to look into the details.

Mr. Kroah-Hartmann did what he had to do to protect a critical piece of software. That’s not being “emotional”, that’s doing what he had to do. If only to prevent similar tomfoolery in the future.
UMN failed badly in the ethics department, and now faces the music.
