Most shares are held by the company. Most stocks that get traded are done so by computers run by hedge fund managers gambling with other people's money. Mostly automatic, mostly benefits the wealthy. How are you gonna tell me to stop repeating rhetoric, by repeating rhetoric?
Shares of ownership of the company. DVRs are one way, legally limited and controversial also known as poison pill defense. Greenmail defense is where you buy back a certain amount of stock. There's also some techniques to limit the effectiveness of the buy out.

So companies own themselves. This whole stock thing was your tangent on shares if you don't see the point in it then you have other problems you need to sort. My point was that the company built its wealth by exploiting its workers which doesn't directly touch shares at all.
