  8. It seems one of the most basic principles of public policy, and of human existence, would be to protect the unborn child from destruction. It ought to be the basic litmus test for a humane society. The Senate failed to advance this bare minimum of decency. Shame on us, and them.

    If the US passed a 20 week abortion ban we would still have one of the most permissive abortion laws in all of Europe. It would also have a law that a clear majority of women support. It is tame legislation.
