Today, Justin Trudeau's carbon tax begins to take effect and Canadians already anxious about the rising cost of living will soon have another tax to pay. .Here is a collection of helpful resources so ppl can be informed. https://blog.friendsofscience.org/2018/12/31/carbon-tax-information-for-canadians/ … See also that Norway's #carbontax had almost NO effect on emissions reduction. Would be crippling to Canada. @globeandmail is wrong. https://blog.friendsofscience.org/2018/12/29/globe-and-mail-editorial-or-climate-activism/ … #cdnpolipic.twitter.com/0WZoypqHCK

"Helpful resources" are in fact simply propaganda points from the fossil fuel industry. Shame on you.

No. We have no pecuniary interests+have studied #kyoto -related #climate + #energy policies since 2002. Evidence over ideology is not shameful - it is crucial to a viable society. Unless UR promoting rapid decarbonization+mass deaths. https://youtu.be/l7ZUiz-vQgA  If so, shame on you.

One liberal policy negates another. Pro immigration from high birth rate countries to low ones only serves to exacerbate the population boom. Population and fossil fuel consumption are intimately related. So the carbon tax is negated by liberal views on immigration.

End result is a weak Canadian economy with no gain on lowering emissions. Think about it. Anyone who votes liberal needs to go for phyciatric evaluation. @Cr34t0r1

No, most of us are not anxious about the carbon tax, we are living our lives just fine here in Canada 🇨🇦- actually, what we want is a healthier environment for our children and if that costs us a little extra $, then so be it. Mr. Scheer, you are on the wrong side of history.

Why did Trudeau liberals allow construction of the McInnis cement factory in Gaspe that will emit between 1.8 and 2.2 million tons of greenhouse gases a year according to Canada’s environment ministry, and will dwarf yearly emissions of Shell Canada’s oil sands in Fort McMurray?

It was the provincial, not federal, liberals who approved it. Also it was proposed while Harper was PM so maybe ask why he didn’t step in, if you are so concerned about emissions or federal gov’t oversight.
