Senator, how was the salon owner able to collect $18K when she doesn’t actually have employees? The only logical explanation is that she lied about it on her PPP form, which would be fraud.

That is correct. In order to get 18k, she would have to have 18 true employees that she pays, not 1099 like most hair stylists are.

The PPP pays for salaries over an 8 week time frame. So if she had a couple stylists that made 30-40k per year, that would make the 18k

She runs a business and can't keep track of banking activity. Yeah right.

She lied to the judge, claiming she had to work to feed her family. She had $18,000 of taxpayer money. Disgraceful.

If she applied as a sole proprietor or only counted herself, that would be OK actually under the program guidelines...the max loan amount for one person is about $20,833

This is misleading and untrue. With no employees she could still have gotten up to $20,800 IF she paid HERSELF $100k+ last year. Now, she’s definitely still lying and was trying to get the PPP funds on top of normal revenue, but the amount of PPP funds she received is plausible

She also doesn’t know how to cut hair. Ted Cruz found that out the hard way. A lot of fraud here. Target rich environment.
