He's correct, there is an extra $600 added to unemployment benefits regardless of state maximums. I'm on unemployment in California, where the maximum benefit is $450 and it adds on top that payout the $600 from the CARES Act.

I believe
@kerpen may be correct from my understanding, as well as an NPR interview aired yesterday. States have their own varying unemployment rates, but all those should also qualify for the add'l $600/wk from the Feds. Not a bad interim wage, for some, close to $1000/wk. -
