Because they have larger populations of people and are major hubs to international travel

WA is the 13th most populated state, with many other states that are more populated having little to no, covid 19 cases. but we have more homeless and ranked 3rd with most sanctuary cities in the US. But yes we do a lot of international business dealings, in particular with china

But there are other states with big population and receive a lot of travelers like Texas and Florida and their cases are not proportionally high. Travel information and immigration statuses are not shared so it’s harder to know who’s been where.

Exactly. WA has a huge homeless problem, and we are thr ranked 3 to having the most sanctuary cities in the US (CA and OREGON being 1st and 2nd). But we do a ton of international business dealings, in particular with China.
